One goal of Carnivalesque Films is to cultivate conversations and debates about the impact of globalization in China and its connection to the tourist economy in the United States and specifically New Orleans and the Gulf Region. In context of the recent events in the Gulf Coast, we believe this conversation is even more relevant and pertinent to our second goal of utilizing film to understand and alter current relations of inequality, power, and politics.
